It is a sleep hood. Hoods like these have been featured on most models of soft carriers for quite some time. They were originally designed to support baby's head if they fell asleep in a back carry. This keeps baby's head gently resting on your back, which is the optimal position.
Why was it designed for just back carries? Because the original intended use of soft structure carriers was for back carrying. Specifically carrying a baby who was sitting upright unassisted and fit into the carrier without any modifications. As the popularity of carriers increased, people want to use them for front carries and for smaller babies, so modifications and adaptions were made. But the original design remained the same, for the most part----including the sleep hood.
Does this mean you cannot use the sleep hood for front carries? It is possible, but we want to express that this is not the intended design.
So, how in world do you get that small rectangle of fabric from behind your back, over baby's head, and secured safely? We promise it does not require super powers or double-jointed elbows!
Before you place the carrier on your body or secure your child in the carrier, the first step is to take the hood out. Simply undo the Velcro and pull the hood out of the pocket. Put the carrier on and secure baby like normal, just make sure the hood is not tangled up in the body panel.
When you are ready to secure the hood, reach behind your back and find one of the dangling tie strings. It should be somewhere near baby's bottom. Pull that string straight up towards baby's head. Now the string on the other side should be up by your shoulders where you can easily grab it with your other hand.
Hold both strings straight up above your head. Position the rectangle over baby's head and then bring the fabric forward towards your collar bones. You can scrunch up the rectangle to expose more tie string or to custom fit your child's head shape.
Now look at your shoulders, you should see a half loop on straps. Tie the strings around the loop to secure the hood in place. We suggest either a bow tie or slip knot to be able to release the hood quickly if needed.

]]>I’m a teacher, and I get to stay home with my daughters during the summer months. This summer has been full of back to back adventures around town, as well as vacations to Missouri, Colorado, and Michigan!
Our Easy Feel carrier is always within arms reach, which means that having a one year old hasn’t slowed us down one bit!
Our every day uses for our Easy Feel have been things like grocery shopping, numerous doctor visits, and trips to the park.
There are so many times when a one year old can get down and walk for a bit, but then she is too slow to keep up or just needs to be contained.
There were also a lot of activities on my six year old’s summer bucket list that are hard for my one year old to participate in.
Trips to amusement parks, bowling alleys, mountain climbing, and putt-putt golf were all rescued when my toddler could tag along on my back!
The carrier also made it simple for her to breastfeed and take naps on the go!
I always keep my carrier in the car when I’m not using it. Easy Feel has three great options for storing it. Type A personalities can keep it clean and contained in a cute Easy Feel Stuff Sack (found here for just $10). Type B personalities can just toss it in the car - the fabric is durable and machine washable, so you don’t need to worry about it getting crumpled or dirty! In between personalities can wrap the carrier up and buckle the waist band around it, creating a nice little bundle.
Don’t let those little legs slow you down! Carry your baby, toddler, or big kid and face your adventures head on!
Sister love!

The panel width is 21", making it the widest panel on the market currently. The panel height is 22", making it also the tallest panel on the market currently.
The panel is designed to wrap around your child when tighten properly, essentially giving them one big hug. This provides physical support and emotional comfort.
Your comfort matters as well. The structured waistband helps evenly distribute your child's weight onto your hips and lower body, taking the pressure off your spine and shoulders. This helps make long-term carrier snuggles possible.
The lightly padded shoulder straps eliminate pressure points on your shoulders. And can adjusted two ways---length wise and at base with the Perfect Fit Adjustors to make a truly custom fit your body.
All of our carriers are handmade from organic, breathable and study fabrics with the greatest care.
The quality is in the name. Our carriers are meant to make carrying a child easy and feel great.
]]>“I’m so thankful to have a carrier that can comfortably grow beyond age 1, we all know babies need to be carried long after they’ve walked. We get so many compliments on the fabric!”

The simple answer is of course your arms aren't meant to reach back that far! There is a simple and easy way to secure the clip every time by yourself, we promise!
The first step begins before you even put the carrier on. Make sure the chest clip strap and and shoulder straps are in a loose to neutral position. We recommend that you loosen up the straps each time you use the carrier. You will see why in the following steps!
Before you put the carrier on, pause and take a look at the chest clip. Can you see each piece is attached to shoulder strap?
Can you see that each piece is on a track? You can move each side along the track to find the perfect height placement for your body.
Optimal placement is centered right between your shoulder places. This spot is ideal for your back, as it pulls baby's weight off your shoulders. However, your individual body shape may require it being a bit higher or lower. We suggest trying in the optimal place, then adjusting as needed.
Once you have the carrier on (waistband secured and tight) and place baby on your body, pull the body panel high over baby's back.
Put your arms through the shoulder straps---while keeping a hand on baby at all times as you do so. Now pause! Your first instinct is to tighten your shoulder straps right away, but don't yet!
When the shoulder straps are loose, the chest clip place high up on your back, usually around the back of your neck. Majority of people can easily reach right there. So, when the clip is up high, you can clip it right there all by yourself!
Once you clip it, pause! Don't tighten the strap all the away. Look at the shape of your back. It is more narrow at the top of your shoulder blades and widest at the middle. The chest clip will move down as you tighten the shoulder straps, hopefully right into the optimal placement. If you tighten it all the way while it is higher up, it will be too tighten when it moved down. So, just get a little slack out now if you like.
Now tighten your shoulder straps as needed and feel that chest clip move down your back. Once the shoulder are totally secured, you can make any last minute adjustments to chest clip as needed.
Now you can clip that chest clip all by yourself with pride!

Fun fact: Do you know why it is called a chest clip when it's on your back? Because modern Soft Structured Carriers were originally intended for back carrying an older child (our carriers are designed and intended for both front and back carries, have no worries). So in a back carry, the clip would be at your chest! The name stuck, even when used for a front carry.
